Painting Labor Day weekend

For a couple of yrs I have been thinking about painting my kitchen, dining room & living room and carrying the paint swatches around. This weekend I took advantage of the 3 day weekend at home to do it. We were going to paint the deck but it has to dry until next weekend so I painted inside instead. I am so excited about the results.

Kitchen wall done.

Still had another 2 days off so I had time to get the diningroom/livingroom done too.

And the finished result -

Baby Blankies

I've been on a spree of making baby blankies lately. I guess the sewing bug has bit me briefly. These are just so much fun to make and I seem to have lots of friends having babies lately. They aren't all done but the fabrics are so much fun I thought I'd share all of them anyway. As you can see everyone is having girls. I have one boy blankie to make but haven't bought the satin for it yet. Have a great 4th of July everyone!

This one is Bethany's and is on its way to England.

Cecily's graduation gift

Here is the Memory Keeper box I made for Cecily Poor for graduation. Her colors for her room are pink, bright green and brown so this paper worked well. The best thing is I found out that she's a scrapbooker and is coming to school in Missoula. I look forward to visits from she and Peggy next fall and winter.

This was so much fun, I love these boxes!

New Creations

Katie has been after me for quite some time to post my creations here on a regular basis . As I've had a very busy creative week I thought it was the perfect time to start. On Thursday night I had our monthly Close to my Heart gathering. A few of my regulars weren't able to make it so I will post the pages here. I also made 2 baby blankies for a shower I attended today. I forgot to take pictures but I have a few more to make so I will try to remember to take pictures of them. I'll ask the new mommy (of twins) to take pictures for me of the babies with their blankies, that would be better anyway. Any of you who go to Great Falls Christian Center will be very familiar with the blankies as they are abundant there. I believe Suzanne started making them for babies and she got Katie started, who has now passed the torch to me. I also made a tied fleece blanket this afternoon. Our church gives them to the graduating seniors and we are giving them away in church tomorrow. I hope you enjoy, give feedback & let me know what you think. Now I think I should go make a necklace to complete my week, all of my hobbies in one week.

2 page layout

Theme for layout using dimensional elements flowers for word "me". The thought is that most of us who scrapbook make pages of the people in our lives (children, grandchildren, spouse) but future generations looking at our books won't learn much about us as we're, for the most part, missing from our pages. I decided to make a layout showcasing us, to give a little glimpse of ourselves. Due to the theme I challenged myself to not use a picture with any member of my family in it and I can tell you that I had a very hard time finding pictures that met that criteria.

By the way, the very silly picture at the top is one Sarah took of me when she started being interested in using the camera.

Close up of flip-flap. You can put one picture behind another or hide journaling with this fun new item.

Tone-on-tone for background. This isn't true tone on tone as its bamboo on colonial white, but I think its a great subtle background. We stamped the image in color in the bottom left hand corner and the did the tone on tone over the rest of the background.
